Description
ITINERARY: If speedboat is not an option, and the tour by ferry boat is not available (due to lack of numbers), it is still possible to visit Phi Phi Don island with the regular ferry on a day trip.
Departing Ao Nang at 9.30am (hotel pick up an hour earlier), the comfortable boat will cruise past Railay Beach and many of the main Krabi islands before arriving at Phi Phi Don at around 11am.
Note: all visitors to Phi Phi Don island must pay a 20 baht entry fee at the pier. This is apparently to help keep the island clean, and is due in cash only (not included in ticket price).
Here, you will have just over 4 hours of free leisure time. You can eat (many restaurants on the island), go shopping and spend time on the twin bays of Tonsai and Lohdalum. There is time enough to go up to the viewpoint OR rent your own longtail boat from the pier for a couple of hours’ sightseeing around the island or over to Phi Phi Leh and Maya Bay (note: both viewpoint and boat ride would not be possible in this timeframe). Boat drivers are always waiting, and the current charge is fixed at 1500 THB per boat for up to 3 hours.
The return ferry to Ao Nang departs at 3.30pm and will arrive just before 5pm.
Note this “tour” is a round trip ferry ticket to Koh Phi Phi Don only. There are no stops at Phi Phi Leh or Maya Bay, or any snorkeling available; this would need to be organised on your own, during your free time on Phi Phi Don island.
For one way ferry tickets, please see our dedicated ferry ticket store.
