Description
ITINERARY: Travelling by speed boat to the Hong Islands allows you to visit all the islands in the group in a single day: Koh Hong itself, with its “secret” inner lagoon; Koh Lahding, with its sheltered cove that was once used by birds’ nest collectors; and Koh Rai and Koh Pakbia, which boast impressive sandbanks and rock formations.
The tour includes a long stop on the magnificent twin bays of Koh Hong where you will have a picnic lunch and time to swim and explore, as well as shorter beach stops on Koh Lahding, Rai and Pakbia. There will also be a couple of snorkeling stops, usually in the bay at Lahding, and at the reefs near Koh Daeng, a rock island on the way to or from the Hong archipelago.
As with all island tours, the itinerary order will vary according to the tides and sea conditions on your day of travel.
NOTE: since 18 June 2015, customers on island-hopping tours that stop at beaches with ranger stations are subject to pay National Park entry fees. The fee at Koh Hong (300 THB per adult and 150 THB per child must be paid in cash on the day of travel and are not included in your ticket price.
Expected group size: 25 – 45 pax, depending on the day and time of year. We will request smaller boats wherever possible, though this cannot be guaranteed.
Important: Speedboat travel is not recommended for pregnant women, infants under the age of 2, or anyone with back problems.
This trip includes 2 open water snorkeling stops of around 20 minutes. It is possible to stay on the boat during this time. Please wear a life jacket if not a confident swimmer. There are also fish that can be seen in the shallow water around Hong beach, which is good for children who are not able to snorkel. Travel time to Koh Hong is around 25 minutes.
