The elephant camp is located around 7 minutes drive from Ao Nang Beach, in a shady palm oil plantation. The gentle trek will take you around this area at the elephant’s pace – they often stop to munch on leaves and fruit. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the circuit through the plantation and along the river. After the ride you can feed the elephants, including a baby. There are bananas for sale (currently 60 baht a basket) and they will happily take these – one of their favourite foods – from your hand.
Expected group size: 4 – 12 pax, depending on the day and time of year. Each elephant can sit up to 2 adults and 1 child or 2 infants.
