It’s essential to consult the ferry schedules if you are planning a holiday with overnight stays on any of Krabi’s islands. Getting around is easy but the timings can have a big impact on your itinerary, both in terms of getting there from, and going back to, the airport (will you be able to catch the last ferry out, or your flight home?), and also in the amount of time you need to factor in for each place: late afternoon arrivals and early morning departures mean your “day” on the island may be considerably shorter than intended.
To be completely safe with respect to flight timings, it is best to plan a night on the mainland on arrival and departure, or count at least 4 hours between your scheduled arrival time in Krabi or Ao Nang (5 hours in Phuket) and the flight departure, to allow for potential delays.
Below we list the current ferry timetables for Krabi. Click / tap on the sections to expand (and view in landscape mode if on a phone).
All prices listed are for one-way adult tickets; times are current as of January 2018, though naturally are subject to change. Children aged 4 – 11 years will have a reduced fare, usually 60 – 70% of adult rate; under 4s travel free.
There is no need to book ferry tickets in Krabi in advance, though many feel it is worth buying your tickets prior to travel, as most ferry companies provide a complimentary transfer from your hotel to the pier on departure, which will save both money and hassle, as most piers are out of town. Do note however that the pick up service often comes a lot earlier and takes a lot longer than using a taxi.
All of these ferry routes are for foot passengers only. If you would like to take a car or motorbike to or from Ko Lanta, please use the bridge / local car ferry service between Saladan, Lanta Noi and Hua Hin pier (around 70km from Krabi Town). Boats run every hour or so from 6am until around 10pm.

ONWARD TRAVEL: There is no onward transfer service offered; please make your own arrangements for pick up, or take a taxi from the pier.
