Krabi, with its beaches of white powder sand fringed by coconut trees, is one of the most photogenic areas of Thailand. But though there are hundreds of perfect picture postcards of the area, there are very few photos of what the main towns and villages are really like.
Since this is where the most tourists will be staying (the beautiful beaches and islands are usually a boat ride away), we have created a few photo galleries of each resort area, so you can know what to expect when you arrive at your hotel.
On each page you will also find a link to further information about that area. Please note that all of these pictures have been taken after the December 2004 tsunami, so you can see what little damage there was to the mainland.
We have also had requests from readers wanting to see pictures of activities and the main tourist attractions; we will try to post photos of these soon.

To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami that devastated the coast of Krabi on December 26, 2004, The Sriphong Phukaoluan Foundation has produced a DVD to raise funds to sponsor children orphaned in the disaster.

The average Thailand guidebook has only a couple of pages dedicated to Krabi. We've created a whole book about the province, its attractions and where to stay. You'll find everything you need to plan your holiday and comprehensive maps and information for when you are here. Order your copy now!
